The Zacatecas March (Spanish: Marcha de Zacatecas) is a mexican patriotic song, and an unofficial national anthem of Mexico. The Zacatecas March was composed in 1891 by Genaro Codina, as part of a competition with his friend Fernando Villalpando. Codina and Villalpando both wrote marches, to be played for the Governor of the state of Zacatecas, Jesús Aréchiga. Zacatecas is one of the 31 constituent states of Mexico. It is located in the north-central region and it is bounded to the northwest by Durango [1]
