Yitzhak Frenkel (1899-1981) (variant names Isaac Frenel, Isaac Fraenkel, Yitzhak Frenel, Yitshak Frenkel-Frenel, Alexandre Frenel, Izhak Frenel) was an important Israeli painter, born in 1899 in Odessa, Ukraine. He was a great-grandson of the famed Rabbi Levi Yitzchok of Berditchev. In 1979, he had a one-man show at the famous Orangerie in Paris. An Orangery was a building frequently found in the grounds of fashionable residences from the 17th to the 19th century and given a classicising architectural form He died in Tel Aviv in 1981 and was buried in Safed.
