It was named after Erick Worsley, a British Cavalry Officer and fur trader who arrived in the area in the 1930's. The fur trade is a worldwide industry dealing in the acquisition and sale of animal Fur. The main families of the area are the Allens and the Schwerdts,the latter of which settled in the area before the 1900's and continue to live there today. Worsley is the municipal seat of Clear Hills County. Clear Hills County is a Municipal district in north western Alberta, Canada. [2]

The first post office was established in Worsley in 1931. [1]

It is an agricultural service center for the surrounding farming communities, which raise mostly crops of barley, wheat, canola and fescue. Agriculture refers to the production of goods through the growing of plants and fungi and the raising of domesticated Animals The study of agriculture

The Whispering Pines Ski Hill, a 17 runs ski resort is located in the Clear Hills, 25 km (16 mi) northwest of Worsley. A ski area is a developed recreational facility usually on a Mountain or large Hill, containing ski trails and vital supporting services [3]
