The Windsor Star is the regional newspaper of Windsor, Ontario (the only daily newspaper in Windsor and Essex County), and is owned by CanWest Global Communications. Windsor is the southernmost city in Canada and lies at the western end of the heavily populated Quebec City-Windsor Corridor. Essex County is a County and Census division located in Southwestern Ontario and covers an area at the southernmost tip of Canada Canwest Global Communications Corp () operating under the corporate brand Canwest, is one of Canada 's largest International media companies It has attracted the highest readership per capita in its circulation range of any Canadian metropolitan newspaper. The newspaper's main office is located in the downtown area of Windsor, Ontario.
History
It began as the weekly Windsor Record in 1888, changing its name to the Border Cities Star in 1918 when it was bought by W.
