- Floyd H. Ace Townsend Adams ( March 2, 1912 - February 26, 2006) was a Relief pitcher in Major League Baseball who played for the Nolta (1900-1974), a pioneer in aerial firefighting. A member of the Army Air Corps during World War I, he returned to Willows to found the Nolta and later Willows Flying Service in 1927. He also developed the first Agricultural Aviation 'Seeding Aircraft,' and later 'Crop-Dusting Aircraft in the 1930s.
