The Welsh Institute of Sport is an organisation set up in 1972 to assist in the development of the top athletes in Wales. Year 1972 ( MCMLXXII) was a Leap year starting on Saturday (link will display full calendar of the Gregorian calendar.

The institute has indoor sports halls located in Sophia Gardens in Cardiff called the Main Hall. SWALEC Stadium is a Cricket stadium on the west bank of the River Taff in Cardiff, one mile north of Cardiff Arms Park and was originally known Cardiff ( 'kɑːdɪf) is the Capital and the largest city and county in Wales.
