Wang Shenzhi (王審知) (862–925), postumously known as Min Taizu, was the founder of the Min Kingdom on the southeast coast of China during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms Period of Chinese history. As Min was a poor region, Wang Shenzhi tried to attract able administrators and enact polities that would stimulate development along the rugged, coastal region. They constructed an efficient bureaucracy, tax system and economical directives. His efforts also aided later maritime trade.

He was succeeded by his son Wang Yanhan, who declared himself the Emperor of Min and posthumously designed his father as Min Taizu (founding emperor). However, this reign saw a rebellion that opened the way to absorption into the Southern Tang in 945.
