Voodoo is a religious tradition originating in West Africa, which became prominent in the New World due to the importation of African slaves. Vodou ( Anglicized: Voodoo) or Vaudoo is a family of New World syncretistic religions primarily based on the faiths of the Louisiana Voodoo, also known as New Orleans Voodoo, originated from the ancestral religions of the African diaspora.
