Viera wetlands contain wildlife. A wetland is an area of Land consisting of Soil that is Saturated with Moisture, such as a Swamp, Marsh, or Bog The wetlands are open to the public for photographs.
A large "lifestyle center" called The Avenue Viera [3] opened in 2004. The grand opening was delayed somewhat due to Hurricanes Frances and Jean [4] The Avenue contains shops and restaurants, a 16-screen Rave movie complex[5], and several "Big-Box" retailers including Bed, Bath and Beyond, Office Depot and The Sports Authority. Bed Bath & Beyond Inc ( was formed in 1971 and today operates a chain of domestic merchandise retail stores across North America. Office Depot ( is a supplier of office products and services The Company's selection of brand name office supplies includes business machines computers computer software and office Sports Authority is one of the USA's largest Sporting goods Retailers.
There are two 18-hole championship golf courses in Viera, a regional park, and one movie theater.
Neighborhoods include Gatwick Manor[6], and The Villages of Viera East[7] which consists of the Bennington, Somerville, Templeton, Auburn Lakes and Wingate Estates subdivisions, surrounding the Ralph M. History
The park opened in 2006; the community center in 2007.
A new overpass crossing I-95 in central Viera opened in November 2007, joining Viera East and Viera West via an extension of Viera Boulevard. This has significantly reduced travel time to the government offices, stadium complex, The Avenue retail shops and restaurant area, and new residential development in Viera West. [11]
