Upon Gollancz's death in 1967, his daughter, Livia, became controlling director. She sold it to Houghton Mifflin in 1989. Houghton Mifflin Company is a leading educational Publisher in the United States. Three years later, in October 1992, Houghton Mifflin sold Gollancz to Cassell.
