Velox: Critical Approaches to Contemporary Film is an online academic journal which publishes articles about film and other current media. An academic journal is a peer-reviewed Periodical in which scholarship relating to a particular Academic discipline is published The word velox (pronounced WAY-locks) comes from Latin meaning "swift" or "rapid" and refers to the journal's emphasis on publishing high quality scholarship within a relatively short time after a film's release. Latin ( lingua Latīna, laˈtiːna is an Italic language, historically spoken in Latium and Ancient Rome.
