In the beginning of the new millennium VB was relegated from the best Danish league for the second time in the clubs history. However, the club was back after only one season in the second best league, but it turned out to be a shot visit as the club was relegated the same season. This turned out to be the beginning of a serious crises. In 2004 VB was almost relegated to the third league and the club was threatened by bankruptcy.
