Vineyards descend to the edge of the town and produce a range of mostly white wines, based mainly on the Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Melon de Bourgogne grape varieties. Chardonnay is a green-skinned Grape variety used to make white Wine. Pinot noir ('pino nwar is a red Wine Grape variety of the species Vitis vinifera. Melon de Bourgogne is a variety of white Grape grown in the Loire Valley region of France and best known through its use in the Wine About half of the production is marketed through the Cave Henry co-operative.
