An utterance is a complete unit of speech in spoken language. Speech refers to the processes associated with the production and perception of Sounds used in Spoken language. A spoken language is a human Natural language in which the Words are uttered through the Mouth. It is generally but not always bounded by silence.
It can be represented and delineated in written language in many ways. A written language is the representation of a Language by means of a Writing system. Note that utterances do not exist in written language, only their representations do.
