In England, an unparished area is an area that is not covered by a civil parish. England is a Country which is part of the United Kingdom. Its inhabitants account for more than 83% of the total UK population whilst its mainland A civil parish in the United Kingdom is a unit of local government. Most urbanised districts of England are either entirely or partly unparished. The districts of England are a level of subnational division of England used for the purposes of local government In some cases a largely rural district will have one or two unparished areas in it (such as in Shrewsbury and Atcham). History The borough was formed on 1 April 1974, under the Local Government Act 1972 when the Municipal borough of Shrewsbury Some unparished areas have Charter Trustees to maintain a historic charter, such as City status (an example being in Bath) or simply the mayoralty of a town. In England and Wales, Charter Trustees are set up to maintain the continuity of a Town charter or City charter after a district with the status Bath is a city in Somerset in the south west of England It is situated west of London and south-east of Bristol.

Unparished areas were created in 1974 in areas that were formerly urban districts or municipal boroughs that did not become successor parishes. In the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, an urban district was a type of Local government district that covered an Urbanised area Municipal boroughs were a type of Local government which existed in England and Wales between 1835 and 1974 in Northern Ireland from 1840 to Successor parishes are Civil parishes created by the Local Government Act 1972 with the same boundaries as an Urban district or Municipal borough Parishes are not allowed in Greater London and so it is entirely unparished. Greater London is the top-level administrative subdivision covering London, England.
