Guru Nanak had visited all parts of India. His aim was to visit Muslim countries. A Muslim (مسلم pronounced Muslim, not Muzlim) is an adherent of the Religion He wanted to visit also, the Muslim mosques in those countries. He chose Mecca as the first such place to visit. Mecca is in Saudi Arabia. He also carried a mat like the hajjis. Dressed thus, he looked like a typical hajji. All along, he acted in every way as hajjis did. Bhai Mardana(Guru's Disciple) was with him. Bhai Mardana (1459-1534 was the first follower and companion of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism. He, too, was dressed as a hajji.
