Tineoidea is the superfamily of Moths that includes clothes moths bagworms and relatives A moth is an Insect closely related to the Butterfly, both being of the order Lepidoptera. Lepidoptera is an order of Insect that includes Moths and butterflies. The family contains approximately 3000 species. Most of the tineid moths are small or medium-sized, with wings held roofwise over the body at rest.
Tineids are unusual among Lepidoptera as the larvae of only a very small number of species feed on living plants, the majority feeding on fungi, lichens and detritus. A larva ( Latin; plural larvae) is a juvenile form of Animal with indirect development, undergoing Metamorphosis (for example Plants are living Organisms belonging to the kingdom Plantae. A fungus (ˈfʌŋgəs is a eukaryotic Organism that is a member of the kingdom Fungi (ˈfʌndʒaɪ Lichens (ˈlaɪkən or /lɪtʃən/ are symbiotic associations of a Fungus (the mycobiont with a photosynthetic partner (the photobiont also known as In Biology, detritus is non-living particulate organic material (as opposed to dissolved organic material The most familiar members of the family are the clothes moths, which have adapted to feeding on stored fabrics. The most widespread species are the Common Clothes Moth (Tineola bisselliella) and the Case-bearing Clothes Moth (Tinea pellionella). One remarkable genus is Ceratophaga, whose members feed exclusively on pure keratin in the form of the horns and hooves of dead mammals and even the shells of dead tortoises. Ceratophaga is a genus of Moths belonging to the family Tineidae. Keratins are a family of fibrous structural proteins; tough and insoluble they form the hard but nonmineralized structures found in Reptiles Birds Mammals ( class Mammalia) are a class of Vertebrate Animals characterized by the presence of Sweat glands, including sweat glands Tortoises or land Turtles are land-dwelling Reptiles of the family of Testudinidae', order Testudines.
