Theodore M. The History of Science Society (HSS is the primary professional society for the academic study of the history of science. Porter is a professor who specializes in the history of science in the Department of History at UCLA. The University of California Los Angeles (generally known as UCLA) is a public research university located in Westwood Los Angeles, California, United He has authored several books, including The Rise of Statistical Thinking, 1820-1900; and Trust in Numbers: The Pursuit of Objectivity in Science and Public Life. His most recent book, published by Princeton University Press in 2004, is Karl Pearson: The Scientific Life in a Statistical Age. Karl Pearson FRS ( March 27 1857 &ndash April 27 1936) established the disciplineof Mathematical statistics. Dr. Porter graduated from Stanford University with an A. Leland Stanford Junior University, commonly known as Stanford University or simply Stanford, is a private Research university located in B. in history in 1976 and earned a Ph. D from Princeton University in 1981. Princeton University is a private Coeducational research university located in Princeton, New Jersey. In 2008, he was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. The American Academy of Arts and Sciences (AAAS is an organization dedicated to scholarship and the advancement of learning [1]
