Plot

Charles Dobbs is a British secret agent investigating the apparent suicide of Foreign Office official Samuel Fennan. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office, commonly called the Foreign Office or the FCO, is the British government department responsible for promoting Dobbs suspects that Fennan's wife, Elsa, a survivor of a Nazi Germany extermination camp, might have some clues, but other officials want Dobbs to drop the case. Nazi Germany and the Third Reich are the common English names for Germany under the regime of Adolf Hitler and the National Socialist German Workers Extermination camps were two types of facilities that Nazi Germany built during World War II for the systematic killing of millions of people in what has become So Dobbs hires a retiring inspector, Mendel, to quietly make inquiries.
