Tengizchevroil is a joint venture between Chevron, ExxonMobil, Lukarco and KazMunayGas. The Exxon Mobil Corporation, or ExxonMobil, is an American oil and gas Corporation and a direct descendant of John D KazMunayGas is the state-owned oil and gas company of Kazakhstan. The project is developing the Tengiz and Korolev oil fields located in the north-eastern reaches of the Caspian Sea. Tengiz field (Tengiz is Kazakh for "sea" in western Kazakhstan, is located in the low-lying wetlands along the northeast shores of the Caspian Sea. An oil field is a region with an abundance of Oil wells extracting Petroleum (crude oil from below ground The Caspian Sea is the largest enclosed body of water on Earth by area variously classed as the world's largest lake or a full-fledged Sea. The joint venture was formed in 1993.
