Techne Ltd. was a company founded in Cambridge, UK by Norman DeBruyne to manufacture gelation timers and thermal cycler equipment. [1] From the time of its formation until 1999 Techne was located in Duxford vicarage near Cambridge. Barloworld Scientific Ltd was the of UK's largest manufacturers of scientific equipment and laboratory supplies Duxford is a village in Cambridgeshire, England, some ten miles south of Cambridge. At this point, however, the property was sold for housing development and the company moved to the industrial estate 100 yards (91 m) up the road. An industrial estate is an area of land set aside for industrial development.
