Taihu County (Chinese: 太湖县; Pinyin: Tàihú Xiàn) is a county in Anhui under the jurisdiction of Anqing City. A Chinese character, also known as a Han character ( is a Logogram used in writing Chinese (hanzi Japanese ( Pinyin, more formally Hanyu pinyin, is the most common Standard Mandarin Romanization system in use Anhui (in Chinese: 安徽 Ānhuī) is a province of the People's Republic of China. Administration The Prefecture-level city of Anqing administers 11 county-level divisions, including 3 districts, 1 County-level city Its population is 560,000 and its area is 2031 square kilometers. The government of Taihu County is located in Jingxi Town.

Taihu County has jurisdiction over 9 towns and 6 townships.

Taihu is famous for its lake named "Huating Lake" with mountains and scenery waters. The lake was originally built for flood control and power generation with a dam constructed in the 1960s. Though in the earlier days it had been blamed for destroying lots of farm land, it is now widely advocated as a traveling place.

It also has a long history in the Chinese Zen, which is an important tributary of the Chinese Buddhism. Zen is a school of Mahāyāna Buddhism, referred to in Chinese as Chan. Chinese Buddhism ( Pinyin fójiào refers collectively to the various schools of Buddhism that have flourished in China proper since ancient times
