A native of the Chiota Reserve near Marondera, Mubayi worked as a tobacco grader after leaving school; in 1966 he moved to Harare to look for work at the Chibuku Breweries. Marondera, formerly known as Marandellas, is a town in Mashonaland East, Zimbabwe, located about 72km east of Harare; population 39384 Tobacco is an Agricultural product recognized as an addictive drug processed from the fresh Leaves of plants in the genus Nicotiana.
