Suspended Load is the term for the fine particles that are light enough to be carried in a stream without touching the stream bed. A stream is a body of Water with a current, confined within a bed and stream-banks A stream bed is the channel bottom of a Stream or River or creek the physical confine of the normal water flow These particles are generally of the sand, dirt, silt and clay size, although they can be larger, especially in cases of high discharge, such as during floods. In Hydrology, the discharge or outflow of a River is the volume of Water transported by it in a certain amount of time This is in contrast to bed load which is carried along the bottom of the stream. The term Bed load describes particles in a flowing fluid (usually a river that are transported along the bed

The size and weight of the particles in the suspended load is directly related to the discharge of the stream. In Hydrology, the discharge or outflow of a River is the volume of Water transported by it in a certain amount of time The higher the discharge, the larger and heavier the particles .
