Structurae is an online database containing works of structural and civil engineering of all kinds such as bridges, high-rise buildings, towers, dams, etc. A Computer Database is a structured collection of records or data that is stored in a computer system Structural engineering is a field of Engineering dealing with the analysis and design of Structures that support or resist loads Structural engineering is Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design construction and maintenance of the physical and naturally built A bridge is a Structure built to span a Gorge, Valley, Road, railroad track, River, Body of water A high-rise is a tall Building or structure Normally the function of the building is added for example high-rise Apartment building or Towers are tall human-made Structures that are always taller than they are wide usually by a significant Margin. A dam is a barrier that divides waters. Dams generally serve the primary purpose of retaining water while other structures such as Floodgates, Levees Additionally, the database contains information on companies and persons (engineers, architects, and builders) involved in the design or construction of the structures. An engineer is a person professionally engaged in a field of Engineering. An architect is a licensed individual who leads a design team in the Planning and Design of buildings and participates in oversight of Building Construction The name Structurae is based on the Latin word strūctūra (in its nominative plural or genitive singular form), which signifies the act of construction as well the result of that action. Latin ( lingua Latīna, laˈtiːna is an Italic language, historically spoken in Latium and Ancient Rome. The nominative case is a Grammatical case for a Noun, which generally marks the subject of a Verb, as opposed to its object or other In Grammar, the genitive case or possessive case (also called the second case) is the case that marks a Noun as modifying another

Structurae is supported by contributions from hundreds of volunteers who share their data, information and images to the various entries. Most entries contain references from specialized journals and other sources. The founder, Nicolas Janberg, is a Franco-German bridge engineer who decided to create Structurae in 1998 after creating a similar course home page while a teaching assistant in the Department of Civil Engineering at Princeton University. Princeton University is a private Coeducational research university located in Princeton, New Jersey. Structurae was based in idea and structure on the architecture database archINFORM, which is considered a pioneering project in cataloging building data on the Internet. ArchINFORM is an online Database for international Architecture, originally emerging from records of interesting building projects from architecture students from The Internet is a global system of interconnected Computer networks

The Structurae database and web site are currently available in three languages — English, French, and German. English is a West Germanic language originating in England and is the First language for most people in the United Kingdom, the United States French ( français,) is a Romance language spoken around the world by 118 million people as a native language and by about 180 to 260 million people The German language (de ''Deutsch'') is a West Germanic language and one of the world's major languages. The project is financed through online advertising, sponsoring, and premium entries for companies and a product database. The website is composed of more than 100,000 individual pages programmed in ColdFusion and using a MySQL database. This article is about the computer programming language For the nuclear reactions see Cold fusion. MySQL is a Relational database management system (RDBMS which has more than 11 million installations
