Powderfinger
Bishop was a founding member of the group when in high school at Brisbane Boys Grammar School with guitarist Ian Haug and bass guitarist John Collins. Ian Haug (born 21 February, 1970) is a lead guitarist in the successful Australian rock band Powderfinger. John Collins is an Australian bass player known for his work as a member of Australian band Powderfinger. In 1990 after finishing TAFE, Bishop decided that he wasn't going to continue with the band and left. Technical and Further Education or TAFE (pronounced) institutions provide a wide range of predominantly vocational tertiary education courses in Australia Bishop was replaced by current drummer Jon Coghill who met the band while Bishop was still a member, while Haug took over on lead vocals temporarily until meeting and recruiting Bernard Fanning to sing and play guitar for the group. Jon Coghill (born Jonathan Robert Coghill on 26 August 1971 is an Australian drummer best known for his work with Australian rock band Powderfinger, although he has also toured Bernard Fanning (born 15 August 1969 in Brisbane, Australia) is a Musician and Singer-songwriter.
The Predators
In March 2005, Powderfinger decided to take some time off. In this downtime Bishop formed a band with Haug and Collins named The Predators which like the other side projects for Powderfinger was signed to the record label Dew Process. The Predators are a side-project Australian rock band based in Brisbane Dew Process is an Australian Independent record label based in Brisbane Queensland founded by Paul Piticco. The Predators released a six track EP in 2006 and were joined live by drummer Ross McLennan. Ross McLennan is an Australian Drummer, best known as a member of Australian rock band The Predators.
