Early life
Srirasmi was born in Samut Sakhon Province to a family of modest means. Samut Sakhon (สมุทรสาคร is one of the central provinces ( changwat) of Thailand. She was the third child of Aphirut (Thai: อภิรุจ) and Wanthanee (Thai: วันทนีย์) Akharaphongpreecha. [2] She attended college at Bangkok Business College. In 1993, at the age of 22, Sriramsi entered the service of Crown Prince Vajiralongkorn as a civil servant in charge of "waiting on him". Srirasmi enrolled in Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University in 1997 and graduated in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in management science. Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University or STOU ( Thai: มหาวิทยาลัยสุโขทัยธรรมาธิราช is one of the two open universities Vajiralongkorn personally bestowed her with her diploma. In 2007 she received a Master of Arts degree in Home Economics from Kasetsart University.
Marriage and family
Srirasmi married the crown prince on 10 February 2001 at a private ceremony at the Prince's Nonthaburi Palace.
