It was and is, the best-selling concert tour that country music has ever seen. The tickets went fast, with most of the concert dates selling out in a matter of hours, some in minutes. And now, due to the overwhelming demand from fans that didn’t get their chance to witness history in the making and for fans hungry to be a part of the experience yet again, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are back.
McGraw and Hill played forty-three shows over a nine-week period, with the Jeep brand as the title sponsor, "Jeep Presents Soul2Soul Tour 2007. " The tour featured the first-ever performances throughout Canada.
“The crowds for every show on Soul2Soul II were out of control – they rocked,” said Tim and Faith in a joint statement. “To know that we’re able to do this again is a great feeling, but we’ll have more to live up to this time. There’ll be some new songs, along with the best of ‘Soul2Soul II,’ to make ‘Soul2Soul Tour 2007’ an even better experience. ”
The “Jeep Presents Soul2Soul Tour 2007” itinerary featured two very special performances, miles from Star, Mississippi and Start, Louisiana, where Tim and Faith grew up. At various pre-show parties, McGraw and Hill have been asked if there was going to be a DVD made of this tour and McGraw confirmed it is a project they are working on, however no release date is set. According to fan reports, it is believed the July 21 Atlanta show might be the show they filmed for the DVD due to the presence of more cameramen then usual.
Lafayette Concert Incident
At the July 28 show in Lafayette, Louisiana, at the close of Tim McGraw's set, a female fan reached out and grabbed McGraw's nether regions. When Hill and McGraw returned for the encore, during their performance of "It's Only Love," Hill blasted the fan, waving her finger and saying into the microphone: "Somebody needs to teach you some class, my friend. You don't go grabbin' somebody else's, somebody's husband's [privates], you understand me? That's very disrespectful!" [2] At the same concert, at the beginning of McGraw's set during "Last Dollar," McGraw's ring slipped off his pinky finger and he falsely accused a female fan of taking it. McGraw asked repeatedly into the microhpone to have his ring back. Security had to come over and retrieve it for him.
