History

James Bourne placed adverts in publications such as NME and The Stage in order to recruit potential band members for his new project. In November 2005 Son of Dork released their first single Ticket Outta Loserville which reached number 3 in the UK Charts, followed a few weeks later with their debut album Welcome to Loserville. One of the songs James Bourne wrote is called "Slacker". The Future

After months of speculation of a split, on July 11, 2007 David Williams posted on Son of Dork’s Myspace Page that the band had split. Dave later announced that he had quit the band since he didn't want to be in band where everyone doesn't do anything for more than a year. In October 2007 Chris Leonard also left the band, saying "I've left but to be honest there wasn't really anything to leave. The band wasn't doing anything at all so obviously I wasn't prepared to sit around doing nothing all day when there's so much other stuff I can be doing so I moved on and I'm making new music".

Danny who still remains in the band has started a new rock band called DeFo also constising of five members. DeFo made their debut performance on 7 December 2007. Steve has been working with other unsigned artists and writing and producing songs which may be used for Son Of Dork or other projects. Most recently he has produced the debut album for a new pop rock band called Eighth Wave. In the last year Steve has become a successful producer and his work can be seen on his myspace page. Steve Rushton's MySpace. Now, Steve Rushton joined in a friend's band called Outrage where he is playing lead guitar.

James has been spending most of 2007 in America working with artists such as the Jonas Brothers and his girlfriend's band AvenueB. The Jonas Brothers are a VMA -nominated American Boy band. They gained their popularity solely from the television network Disney Channel He has also started doing a few solo acoustic gigs in Manhattan and theres rumours that he has been writing lyrics for himself or his band and will be returning to the UK. He also uploaded a solo song called "Loser with No Life". His latest song is a duet with Olivia from Avenue B called What You're About. It can be seen on his youtube site.

James has stated on the band website that they would start writing new material soon but has yet to be confirmed.
