He was a son of Soga no Emishi. was a statesman of Yamato Imperial Court. His alternative names include Emishi (ja 毛人 and Toyora no Ooomi (ja 豊浦大臣 He was assassinated by Crown Prince Naka no Ōe (later Emperor Tenji) and Nakatomi no Kamatari during the Taika Reforms.
