Sheldon Keefe was selected 47th overall, in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. The 1999 NHL Entry Draft was held on June 26th at the FleetCenter in Boston Massachusetts. He was the 2nd choice of the Tampa Bay Lightning, and made his NHL debut on October 18, 2000. The Tampa Bay Lightning is a professional ice hockey team based in Tampa Florida.
