There were 12,982 housing units at an average density of 2,068. 4/sq mi (798. 1/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 59. 94% White, 34. 11% African American, 0. 06% Native American, 3. 16% Asian, 0. 01% Pacific Islander, 0. 50% from other races, and 2. 22% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1. 15% of the population.
