The Scottish Independence Party (SIP) is a Scottish political party, which was formed prior to the Scottish Parliamentary Election, 2003. The Scottish Parliament election 2003, was the second General election of the Scottish Parliament.
They have no fixed policy portfolio, beyond Scottish independence. They argue that this is necessary in order to encompass the support of any person seeking an independent Scotland without having to accept extraneous policies that they may find exclusive or unrepresentative.
Their primary campaigns, to date, have been directed at safeguarding the independence of Scots law and encouraging the development of Scotland's international relations. Scots law is a unique legal system with an ancient basis in Roman law.
The SIP contested the Airdrie and Shotts seat in the 2005 general election with Josey Rowan as their candidate.
