Biography

Born in Hawthorne, CA, Sara Marsh grew up with music, as her father and grandfather both played tenor saxophone while her mother had a collection of Beach Boys records. The tenor saxophone is a medium-sized member of the Saxophone family a group of instruments invented by Adolphe Sax in the 1840s The Beach Boys is an American rock band Formed in 1961 the group gained popularity for its close vocal harmonies and lyrics reflecting a California Youth culture Following her father's footsteps, Marsh took up alto saxophone and guitar at age 15 following years of taking up private piano lessons. The alto saxophone is a member of the Saxophone a family of Woodwind instruments invented by Adolphe Sax. Influenced by Jimi Hendrix, Ritchie Blackmore, Tony Iommi, Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton, she switched her focus on playing guitar. In 1989, Marsh, along with Cathy Montgomery, Sece Foster, Karen Chambers and Robin MacDonnel, formed a metal band called Bandit, whose music had been described by fans as a mix of The Pretenders and Megadeth. The Pretenders are a British rock band The original band consisted of group founder and main Songwriter Chrissie Hynde ( lead vocals Megadeth is an American heavy metal band led by founder front man guitarist and songwriter Dave Mustaine. After Bandit disbanded in 1994, Marsh moved to Kansas City, KS, to finish her college degree in Special Education teaching.
