Sadist was formed in 1991 when Tommy (guitars, keyboards) and Peso (drums) started auditioning for musicians to complete their lineup. In early 1994, Sadist support Carcass during the Italian shows for their "Heartwork" tour and a few months later while in France they supported Samael as well. In early 1997, the band goes on tour again around Italy and The Netherlands and later starts recording sessions for the next album, but before the album was released Oinos leaves the band being replaced by Alessio. At the end of 1997, Sadist signs with label Displeased Records and returns with a brutally faster paced album, Crust, that same year.
