History

Sadist was formed in 1991 when Tommy (guitars, keyboards) and Peso (drums) started auditioning for musicians to complete their lineup. In early 1994, Sadist support Carcass during the Italian shows for their "Heartwork" tour and a few months later while in France they supported Samael as well. Carcass are a Grindcore / Death metal act based in Liverpool, England. Samael is a Black metal / Industrial metal band formed in 1987 in Sion Switzerland. While on tour, the band worked on some songs for the new album as well and in May 1995 entered Rhythm Studios in Bidford on Avon, England and started recording their second album. At the end of 1996, the band undergoes another lineup change when drummer Peso leaves to work on an old side-project and is replaced by Oinos. Then another lineup change undergoes, this time the original lineup is made when vocalist Zanna and bass player Chicco are replaced by the new vocalist Trevor and bass player Andy.

In early 1997, the band goes on tour again around Italy and The Netherlands and later starts recording sessions for the next album, but before the album was released Oinos leaves the band being replaced by Alessio. At the end of 1997, Sadist signs with label Displeased Records and returns with a brutally faster paced album, Crust, that same year. Displeased Records is a Dutch Independent record label, founded by Lars Eikema and Ron Veltkamp. In 2005, the band is reunited and signs with Italian indie label, Beyond Productions and re-release Above the Light and Tribe both remastered at Nadir Recording and Mastering. In late 2006, the band starts the recording sessions for the new album and includes guest musicians like Claudio Simonetti and Dado Sezzi. The album was released in April 2007 and their fourth video for "Tearing Away" was made and then followed by touring and festivals like; Iron Maiden, Gods of Metal, Metal Camp and U.
