The car is badged as 9³. Saab however consistently advertises it as 9-3. The name is pronounced "nine three". The 9-3 was introduced in 1998^[1] and succeeded by a redesigned 9-3 in model year 2003. Slight exterior modifications are available on the limited-edition XWD 280bhp 9-3 Turbo X, presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show (9/07). ^[3] The Turbo X made its North American debut at the New England Auto show in late November. ^[4] Saab was also planning to release an all wheel drive version of the Aero, with the system dubbed "XWD", in February or March 2008.

Saab Turbo X

Saab Turbo X is a limited edition special version of the 9-3 revealed at the 2007 Frankfurt auto show. The International Motor Show or Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung (IAA is the world's largest Motor show. It is made to celebrate SAABs 30 years of turbocharging. All Turbo X are offered in metallic jet black with matte grey trim. The Turbo X is SAABs first production car with the XWD all-wheel drive system from Haldex and eLSD. It is powered by a 2. 8 litre V6 producing 280 hp (210 kW) mated to a six speed manual or automatic gearbox. It also has larger brakes as well as stiffer springs and shocks. The dash, shift lever and door panels have carbon fibre look and the turbo boost gauge draws its inspiration from the Saab 900. The 900 is a car that was made by Saab Automobile from 1978 until 1998 in two generations ^[5]
