The channel broadcasts from 9am to 6pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday across all platforms, and shows coverage of the National Assembly for Wales whenever it is in session along with key committee meetings and discussion and analysis. All programming is produced by the BBC.
As the Assembly is bilingual, with members allowed to speak in either English or Welsh, the service carries two audio feeds on Freeview and satellite: an untranslated feed that broadcasts proceedings in their original language (be it English or Welsh) and an English feed that translates any Welsh speech into English. S4C2 has more recently been used for interactive programming and alternate programming that cannot be aired on the main S4C channel, such as the preliminary rounds of the National Eisteddfod of Wales, and Goreuon Can i Gymru's sing-along feature (Best of Song for Wales, a yearly Welsh music competition). The National Eisteddfod of Wales ( Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru) is the most important of several Eisteddfodau that are held annually mostly in Wales.
