The show revolves around a group of toddlers, Thomas (Tommy) Pickles, Charles (Chuckie) Finster, Kimi Finster and the twins Phillip (Phil) and Lillian (Lil) DeVille, who are able to communicate with each other in baby speak (although viewers can understand them, because it is supposedly 'translated'). Thomas "Tommy" Malcolm Pickles is the Main character from the Nickelodeon Animated television series ' Rugrats and its Spin-off Kimi Watanabe-Finster is a Fictional character on the television shows Rugrats and All Grown Up. Phillip "Phil" Richard Bill and Lillian "Lil" Marie Jill DeVille are the twins from the Nickelodeon shows Rugrats and Often, they mispronounce words or use poor grammar. Despite the toddlers' inability and lack of desire to communicate with adults, they can understand their parents' speaking, although they often misunderstand what they hear, usually by taking metaphors literally and speaking in malapropisms. In 2001, Rugrats celebrated 10 years. The special "Rugrats: All Growed Up" was produced for that occasion. After the special aired, a special retrospective lookback aired narrated by Amanda Bynes called, "Rugrats: Still Babies After All These Years"
In 1998, Rugrats released their first movie, "The Rugrats Movie. " 2000 was when their second movie was released, "Rugrats in Paris" which brought new characters into the show, Kimi and Kira. Kimi would be Chuckie's sister and Kira would be his new mommy. In 2003, they brought out their third movie, "Rugrats Go Wild!" where the Rugrats met up with The Wild Thornberrys.
