The son of Thomas Leonard Gozney and his wife Elizabeth Margaret Lilian Gardiner, Gozney was educated at Magdalen College School, Oxford, and St Edmund Hall, Oxford. Magdalen College School is an independent school for boys located in Oxford, England.
