Born in Rome, he was brother of director Roberto Rossellini and father of producer Franco Rossellini. He composed the scores of his brother's films, and others such as The Children Are Watching Us or Il segno di Venere. The Children Are Watching Us (I Bambini ci guardano is a 1944 film directed by Vittorio De Sica. Il segno di Venere (US title The Sign of Venus) is a 1955 Italian Comedy film directed by Dino Risi.
