Renegade Hardware is one of the pioneer record labels in the drum and bass music industry. In the Music industry, a record label can be a Brand and a Trademark associated with the Marketing of music recordings and Music Creatively born in South London by CEO Clayton Hines & Mark Hill in 1995, the label was initially a subdivision of the original Trouble on Vinyl.
Since its first release in 1996 (RH01 - Future Forces A: Flash Gordan, B: Jeep Beats) the label has established itself with some of the most influentional & recognised talents within Drum & Bass. Artists such as Konflict, Keaton, Usual Suspects, Universal Project, Dom and Roland, DJ Friction, Cause 4 Concern, DJ Ink, Loxy, Raiden, Evol Intent, John B,Gridlok and many others have released material through the label. Kemal & Rob Data are a Scottish Drum & Bass DJ/production duo Dom and Roland is Drum and bass producer Dominic Angas. The addition of "Roland" in the artist name refers to his Roland sampler Cause 4 Concern (C4C is a Drum and bass recording and production group consisting of Ed Holmes Mark Clements Stuart Perkins and Toby Bu Evol Intent is a Hardstep Drum and bass / IDM group formed in Atlanta Georgia, U Ryan Powell, also known as Gridlok, is an American Drum and bass producer and DJ.
In 2003 Barcode Recordings was created as sister label to Renegade Hardware. Barcode Recordings, commonly referred to as Barcode is a Record label that concentrates on the experimental, hard end of dark drum & bass. Barcode's initial concept was to nurture new talent and establish up and coming artists but some would argue it has a much heavier and darker sound than Renegade Hardware. Artists such as Counterstrike, Donny, T. Counterstrike, a Drum and bass duo from Cape Town consisting of Justin Scholtemeyer and Eaton Crouse are often considered one of the pioneers of the South African Donny is a UK born DJ, and producer of distinctive sample-based drum & bass, renowned for his use of hard Breaks Z.
