It took a while before RTE One began broadcasting at hours similar to most other television networks at that time. RTE One as with RTE Television previously would only start broadcasting from around 3:00/4:00pm until after midnight. In 1988 RTE One began broadcasting proper afternoon television starting at around 12:00pm. It was not until the early 1990s that full morning television started on RTE One and not until 1996 until they went 24-hours. Even to this day RTE One does not broadcast a proper breakfast television programme, leaving this to Ireland's only independent television station TV3 to do it, with RTE One showing just repeats of programmes shown the day before, Neighbours and old dramas such as Magnum PI and Dallas. From March 2007, content from RTÉ One (and its sister network RTÉ Two) has been available online on it's website www.rte.ie. RTÉ Two (Irish RTÉ a Dó) (known from 1988 to 2004 as Network 2, RTÉ Network Two, RTÉ2 or N2) is the Republic of Ireland The shows are played in conjunction with RealPlayer.
