The President of the Royal Society (PRS) is the elected head of the Royal Society of London. The Royal Society of London for the Improvement of Natural Knowledge, known simply as The Royal Society, is a Learned society for science that was founded in 1660 London ( ˈlʌndən is the capital and largest urban area in the United Kingdom. The position is now awarded to a member of the scientific community of the British Commonwealth for a period of five years, and is one of the highest honours that can be bestowed upon a scientist.
