Peychaud's Bitters
Peychaud's Bitters, originally created around 1800 by Antoine Amédée Peychaud, a Creole apothecary from Haiti who settled in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1795, [1][2] is distributed by its current manufacturer, Sazerac. Haiti ( English: ˈheɪ·tiː or haɪ·ˈjiː·tiː French Haïti a·i·ti Haitian Creole: New Orleans (nʲuːˈɔrliənz nʲuːˈɔrlənz French: La Nouvelle-Orléans) is a major United States port city and the largest city in Louisiana [3] It is a gentian based bitters, comparable to but with a lighter body, sweeter taste and more floral aroma than Angostura brand bitters. A bitters is an alcoholic beverage prepared with Herbs and Citrus dissolved in Alcohol or Glycerine and having a bitter Angostura bitters, often simply referred to as angostura, is a concentrated Bitters for food and beverages made of herbs and spices by House of Angostura A bitters is an alcoholic beverage prepared with Herbs and Citrus dissolved in Alcohol or Glycerine and having a bitter Peychaud's Bitters is an important component of the Sazerac cocktail. The Sazerac is one of the oldest known Cocktails with its origins in pre- Civil War New Orleans Louisiana.
