Route description

Traveling east from Entriken, the route travels to the southeast before turning to the north and making a U-turn to parallel the shore of Raystown Lake. Raystown Lake is a Lake in Huntingdon County Pennsylvania. The largest lake that is entirely within Pennsylvania, it was created by the United States Route 994 then crosses the lake twice, once on a small bridge crossing a small "finger" of the lake and the second time on a bridge that is combination of a land bridge and a man-made bridge. Following the second crossing, the route returns to a southeasterly path.

For the next 4. 5 miles, Route 994 parallels the southern border of the Trough Creek State Park, turning to the south in the progress. Trough Creek State Park is a 554 acre (224 km² Pennsylvania state park in Cass, Penn and Todd Townships Huntingdon County The route returns east near Quadrant Route 3019 in Cooks before taking an erratic path eastward due to the terrain up to an intersection with Route 655 south of Saltillo. After forming a short 170 yard concurrency with Route 655, Route 994 continues east to Three Springs. Three Springs is a borough in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania, United States.

In the center of Three Springs, Route 994 intersects the southern terminus of Route 747 and the former southern terminus of Route 829. Pennsylvania Route 747 is a 15 mile long State highway located in Huntingdon and Mifflin counties in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania Route 829 is a 16 mile long State highway located in Huntingdon county in Pennsylvania. Route 994 takes the south exit at this intersection, curving to the east outside of town and gradually shifts northeast toward Orbisonia.

Southwest of Orbisonia, Route 994 intersects the northern terminus Route 475. Pennsylvania Route 475 is an 19 mile long State highway located in Fulton and Huntingdon counties in Pennsylvania. From this point, Route 994 runs north-south before jutting back to the east in Orbisonia towards its eastern terminus at US 522.

Signed in 1928. Three Springs is a borough in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania, United States. Orbisonia is a borough in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania, United States. Pennsylvania Route 26 is a 128-mile highway in the south-central area of Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania Route 747 is a 15 mile long State highway located in Huntingdon and Mifflin counties in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania Route 475 is an 19 mile long State highway located in Fulton and Huntingdon counties in Pennsylvania. US Route 522 is a 308 mile (496 km Spur route of US Route 22 in the eastern United States. In 1932, the route was paved. In 1936, the route was moved from the PA 915 alignment and SR 4006 to Houstontown to its current location between Entriken to Robertsdale.

In 1964, the eastern terminus moved from PA 913 north of Robertsdale to its current location.

Miscellanea

This highway crosses Raystown Lake via a bridge over the lake. Raystown Lake is a Lake in Huntingdon County Pennsylvania. The largest lake that is entirely within Pennsylvania, it was created by the United States Fireworks are held at the Raystown Lake Resort on Memorial Day Weekend, July 3 & the Sunday night before Labor Day. The fireworks at the resort are watched on the lake but they can be seen from the bridge because the resort is just south of the Route 994 bridge which crosses Raystown Lake.
