Fitzgerald was born into a working-class Irish-American Catholic family in Brooklyn and grew up in the Midwood-Flatbush neighborhood. " Libby was sentenced to a $250,000 fine, 2 years of probation and a 2 1/2 year prison term. After a court of appeals rejected Libby's attempt to delay the prison sentence while he appealed the verdict, President George W. Bush commuted the prison portion of Libby's sentence.
