Parasara Bhattar was a follower of Ramanuja, a 12th century Vaishnava teacher, and has written a commentary on Vishnu sahasranama from a Vaishnavite viewpoint. Ramanuja ( traditionally 1017&ndash1137 also known as Ramanujacharya, was a Theologian, Philosopher, and Scriptural Exegete. Vaishnavism is a tradition of Hinduism, distinguished from other schools by its worship of Vishnu or its associated avatars principally as Rama and The Vishnu sahasranāma (literally "the thousand names of Vishnu " is a list of 1000 names for Vishnu, one of the main forms of God He was appointed as the head of Shri Vaishnavites (handed over Sri Vaishnava Sri) by Ramanuja himself to succeed him.
