Oswald Durand (17 September 1840 - 22 April 1906) was a Haitian poet and politician. Born in Cap-Haïtien, Durand worked as a teacher before being elected a Delegate in 1885, a position to which he was re-elected six times. Cap-Haïtien ( Okap or Kapayisyen in Kréyòl) is a city of about 130000 people on the north coast of Haiti. He was involved with several periodicals and newspapers, serving as advisor, writer, and, in a few cases, founder.

He's written a host of articles for various magazines, including the Gwinnett Life; featured #1 in at least three different anthologies.
