Orsett is one of seven conservation areas in Thurrock[1]. A conservation area is a tract of land that has been awarded protected status in order to ensure that natural features cultural heritage or biota are safeguarded
Orsett contains a ring and bailey earthwork known locally as Bishop Bonner's palace. In Archaeology, earthworks are artificial changes in land level often known as lumps and bumps. The exterior design will be in keeping with the original Georgian building.
