Olympos (Greek: Όλυμπος) is a community in the northern part of the island of Karpathos, in the Dodecanese, Greece. Greek (el ελληνική γλώσσα or simply el ελληνικά — "Hellenic" is an Indo-European language, spoken today by 15-22 million people mainly Karpathos (Κάρπαθος is the second largest of the Greek Dodecanese islands in the southeastern Aegean Sea. The Dodecanese ( Greek Δωδεκάνησα Dodekánisa 'twelve islands' are a group of 12 larger plus 150 smaller Greek islands in the Aegean Greece (Ελλάδα transliterated: Elláda, historically, Ellás,) officially the Hellenic Republic (Ελληνική Δημοκρατία Population 761 (2001). The northernmost portion of the community lies on Saria Island. Saria Island (Σαρία is an Island in Greece. It is a rocky volcanic island along the northern edge of Karpathos, separated from it by a strait The municipality also stretches westward to the uninhabited islets of Astakída, Atsakidópoúlo, Divoúnia, and Chamilí. The total land area of the community is 104. 876 km².
Olympos is also the place of origin of Yannis Philippakis, the frontman of the British band the Foals. Yannis Philippakis (born April 25, 1986) is the frontman of Dance-punk band Foals. Foals are a band from Oxford England. The band are signed with Transgressive Records in Europe and Sub Pop in the USA
